This month we bring you badass djsayaka, aka Kristin Wenzel as our gamer profile.  Kristin is an all around gamer, aspiring artist and all around cool chica.


 By helping show a variety of gamers from around the world we hope to help dispel some of the more negative associations surrounding the term 'gamer'.  The stereotype of the gamer is no longer all that realistic.  With gamers of every age, race, sex and preference, it's time to lay to rest the idea that all gamers are young, white, male and only interested in violent video games.  (not that there's anything wrong with any of those attributes, for that matter).

Freelance Artist, Jay Darnell

Jay Darnell is an upcoming freelance concept artist and all around cool gamer guy.  I've watched his artwork progress over the past year or so from his trademark troll images to a variety of expressive and interesting characters each with very distinct sense of style. I recently got the chance to interview him about what he's up to these days, what his opinions are on a few game related topics, and the altogether pressing issue of which game he would choose out of a random grouping of unrelated games.

Pass the Metamucil... and a joystick!

Back in the 80’s heyday of arcade games, it seemed like all the cool kids were gamers.  And not just kids, either.  The fact that arcades were at the local skating rink or other neighborhood hangouts meant guys and girls – but mostly guys – of any age had access to the state of the art in gaming.  And the simplicity of those games meant anyone with enough time on their hands, and quarters in their pockets, could beat a game.  Having a high score in Millipede was something to be proud of.  Being an adult gamer was the norm.
